Stantec x Agratas

Some engineering projects are complicated. This one had never been attempted before.

On the Gravity Smart Campus near Bridgwater in Somerset, Agratas (Tata Group’s global battery business) is building a £4 billion battery cell manufacturing facility, one of the biggest advanced manufacturing projects in the UK. Once complete, the 40 GWh facility is expected to produce almost half of the battery capacity the UK’s automotive sector will need by the early 2030s, and to support around 4,000 jobs across the South West.

Stantec is the engineering and design consultancy leading the project, providing architecture, structural, civil, and building services engineering, planning compliance, and BIM management across the site. Nothing on this scale had been designed in the UK before, and coordinating that design while construction was already underway took flexibility, digital coordination, and a genuine partnership between Stantec and Agratas at every stage.

That’s the brief they brought to us. As a corporate video production company working across the UK, we’re used to turning technical, complex work into film people actually want to watch. This project asked for something a little different: a documentary-style case study that captured the scale of an active construction site and the partnership behind it, without leaning on stock corporate video cliches.

We spent a day filming on site at Gravity, in Puriton just outside Bridgwater, after a full induction and safety briefing (PPE on, drone off, per the site’s rules). We interviewed Stantec’s UK & Ireland Managing Director, Brian Yates, alongside colleagues from planning, transport, and advanced manufacturing, capturing candid conversation about why the project matters rather than a scripted voiceover. We paired that with observational footage of the site itself: the scale, the steel, and the sheer amount of coordination it takes to build something nobody has built in the UK before.

The result is B2B video production built to do a specific job: position Stantec as the partner of choice for complex, nationally significant infrastructure, and back up the UK’s case as a credible home for advanced manufacturing at scale. It’s the first film in an ongoing documentary case study series we’re producing with Stantec, each one built the same way, with real people, real projects, and enough craft behind the camera that it never feels like corporate video for its own sake.
