Talking Power is EDF's podcast on the UK energy market. LRB took it from remotely recorded audio to B2B video podcast production, filming five episodes in a single day on location at EDF.
The Podcast Strategy
How EDF’s long-running audio podcast became a video podcast, and how each recording day turns into a full season of content.
The Show Idea
Talking Power is EDF’s thought leadership podcast for UK businesses, covering energy costs, flexibility, electrification and the road to net zero. Hosted by David Edmonds (Head of Portfolio Pricing at EDF), episodes pair EDF specialists with outside voices from organisations like Cornwall Insight, Iron Mountain and Gridcog.
Primary Goal
Talking Power started life as an audio show recorded remotely. EDF wanted the conversations in the room and on camera, so they could work as hard on YouTube and LinkedIn as they do in a podcast feed. That meant a move to B2B video podcast production, with each recording day now producing full video episodes, a trailer and vertical clips for every guest.
LRB Role
LRB ran the B2B podcast production end to end and moved the show from audio to video: a branded set on location at EDF (lightbox, branded mic covers and all), a three-person crew on the day, editing, captioned trailers and vertical clips for every guest, plus support as the feed moved over from The Energyst to EDF’s own channels.
From One Recording Day to a Season of Content
Each Talking Power session is recorded in a single day, then broken down into full video episodes, trailers and short clips for YouTube, LinkedIn and Spotify.
